Parish Office Opening Hours

Please note that the Parish Office is now open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 09.00 - 13.00. 
 

Home Communion
If you, a family member of friend will be housebound and would like Holy Communion at home, please contact the Parish Office so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
 
Hiring the Parish Hall

The Sacred Heart Parish Hall is available for hire to parishioners and the public. Please contact the for further information.
 

Mass Intentions

If you would like Mass offered for a particular intention, please let the office know in good time.  Normally, 2-3 weeks is helpful.
 

Communication

Please inform us when you change your address, telephone numbers or email address in order that we can keep our records up to date.
 

Getting Married

It is a requirement of Diocesan Law that couples give at least six months' notice of their intention to marry.  In order to facilitate the adequate preparation of couples for marriage.  It is very useful if notices can be given one year in advance.
 

 Attention All Eucharistic Ministers

If you are taking communion to the sick, please come out of your place during the final prayer and stand in front of the altar.  Please do not wait until the prayer is finished.
 

Grapevine 
Contributions welcomed for the next edition of your Parish Magazine.  Do you have some information you would like to share with other parishioners or could you write an article with might be of interest to others?  You can use email or write something in longhand and leave it at the office.   
 

Welcome Leaflets
Have some new houses/flats been built in your neighbourhood?  Please get in touch with the Parish Office if you can deliver some of the 'Welcome' leaflets.
 

Bible Alive
The July edition is available at the back of the church (£1.95).  These booklets are a valuable resource in helping us to read and understand the Scriptures.
 

Co-op Share Number : 272608
We have a parish share number at the Co-operative Society.  If you are shopping at Westgate in Peterborough, St Neots or March or you buy anything on-line and you do not have a share number of your own, the Parish can benefit from the dividend by quoting our share number. In 2008 we benefited by over £100 thank you!

POPE'S VISIT TO THE UK

During the recent Ad Limina Visit, the Holy Father announced his forthcoming trip to the UK, possibly sometime in September 2010.  Sadly there is already opposition headed by the Secular Society of Great Britain to this visit.  The Secular Society have an online petition which has already attracted over 20000 signatures and yet a petition supporting the visit only has 1200 signatures.  You are asked to visit the website and sign the supporting petition as we welcome the Holy Father to our country.  Click on the link:    www.petitiononline.com/PopeinUK/petition.html

Churches Together in St. Ives - Friday  12th March at 12.00.  Sacred Heart have been asked to host the Lent Lunch.  Please put your name on the notice in the porch if you wish o donate any of the following: - home made soup, cheese, bread,  butter or spread Many thanks.

Auction of Promises - Saturday 26th June at Buckden Towers.              

SVP Pilgrimage for the Sick - Sunday 4th July.  Please support this important event it is open to all parishioners.  We need your help.  We have to hire a coach which we would like to fill.  The day includes a free lunch and tea.

                       Diocesan Adult Religious Education - Look here for information about and the Autumn schedule for the Diocesan Adult RE program, now called Learning Together.

St Ives Community Choir - meets on Monday evenings in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall at 19.30 - 21.15.  No auditions, just come along and enjoy singing.

Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group - Meets at The Oratory, Margaret Beaufort Institute, 12 Grange Road, Cambridge, every Tuesday from 7.15 pm, to pray together, share, read scripture and worship.
